| Dear Reader
Our Message for this month is:
CONTEMPLATION
The Merriam-Webster's dictionary defines the word
'contemplation' as a) concentration on spiritual things
as a form of private devotion; b) a state of mystical
awareness of God's being, c) an act of considering with
attention; intention, expectation
I've been asked a lot of questions
lately as to "why this month feels like the end of the year
just before we make a New Year's resolution". Have you
been experiencing the same? Other than we've gone through a
lunar eclipse, a solar eclipse, and fall equinox almost all in
one month, which would be enough for anyone to feel a bit
overwhelmed or nostalgic.
Does the smooth, yet energetic and cooler
autumn breeze make you stop and reflect back on the past
few months, thinking "gee, summer-time is already over, where
did the time go, what did I do, what do I want to still do
before the end of the year?"
The word Contemplation
dates back to the 13th Century, I'm
sure people then didn't have as busy of a schedule as we do
today, and were spending a lot more time on devotional
matters, as the description suggests.
I'm sure you've heard people say "I've
been taking some time off contemplating about God and the
World". Taking the time off is the key word. For
the 'one in a hurry' however, we probably would call it more
'reflecting or thinking about things' on a daily basis, not
just about God, the World and Self, but simply about any kind
of life matter, decisions, and choices we're facing every
day.
Paying attention to Nature however, it
is a time to reflect, re-consider, plan, gather, and
prepare to slow down for the Winter months. We humans
really don't do that, don't we. We still have bills to
pay, people to take care of, and other things we'll find to
do.
I've been busy writing this newsletter,
organizing events, and much more. Far from from slowing down any time soon. But at the
same time I have been catching myself thinking, feeling, and
being - in a more reflective mode, too. And since I know
better to stop when I'm guided to, I do. I re-evaluate
where I've been earlier in the year, where I am now, and what
else I have planned to do. Not just for the end of this
year, but for next year and the next. And I pay
attention to Nature as a daily guide, so I know a lot of the
seeds that I've planted will bear fruit this fall because I
have followed my instincts, the natural rhythms we're
all connected to, knowingly or
unknowingly.
The suggestion of the message of this
month is, to pay attention to the subtle nudges of the
universe or mother earth trying to get your attention so
you too can reposition yourself in your daily lives with your
daily affairs, just like the planets do. Harvest is just around the
corner. Contemplate on what you love to
do, and how it makes you feel. Focus on
the good and plenty. Trust that what you've
planted in your physical and spiritual gardens are ripening
now and will be ready to be picked soon. And be awake
enough, Alive enough, that when the fruit is ready to fall
from the tree you're ready to catch it. And it wouldn't
hurt to contemplate more about God too as God is YOU, and
you are, the I AM. Sometimes it's good
to just be in Spirit's presence without having to 'need'
or 'ask' for something. Just plain simply
being, a few minutes each day, with the precious
Self...YOU..., will truly bring the shifts you've been looking
for to bring things into manifestation.
Follow your inner call. This is not
a man-made pattern, like the New Year's resolution. This
is your higher self, Creator, and your helpers working with
you to re-calibrate your body to yet another level of
being at this stage of your life, following the rhythms of the
season. So take the time to gather
up resources to the best of your knowledge and ability
(physical, emotional, mental
nourishment. Sleep more, reorganize
your finances, give away some household items or clothes you
no longer need, do a gentle cleanse, eat good food, then sit
back, and trust and see Creator and Earth, and your own
capable self, providing for you, always.
I wish you a
Bountiful Fall. Be safe in all your
activities.
In Love and Plenty,
Rev. Claudia Goetschi |
